Exeter City fans will not only be sporting three new kits for the 2023/24 season, but they will have a new sponsor as well after it was announced yesterday that local firm Hel Performance will be the club's new front of shirt sponsor.
The Exeter-based company, who manufacture and distribute race-winning braking products and services for motorcycle riders and drivers will replace Carpetright on City's new shirts, which will be supplied by Adidas after they were confirmed as the new kit manufacturers for the next three years, replacing Joma.
Nick Hawker, chair of Exeter City Football Club board, said: "We are absolutely delighted to welcome HEL Performance to the Exeter City family. They are a hugely successful company and are rightly proud to be Exeter based and ‘made in Devon’ and we are so pleased to be working in partnership with them.
"Our shared values, of community and pride in our city mean there is already a genuine connection and we’re looking forward to the next stage of our journey, with HEL alongside us."
HEL Performance which is based on the Tedburn Road at Whitestone, manufactures braking products for the automotive industry, machining all of its mainline stainless steel and aluminium products on its own machines.
It distributes its products to around 90 countries worldwide and its stainless steel brake lines are used in Moto GP and World Super Bikes. Its brake calipers, master cylinders and thumb brakes are all used in British Super Bikes.
Simon Lane, chief executive of HEL Performance, said: "We feel very fortunate to be sponsoring Exeter City Football Club; there is a real synergy between our organisations. We are an Exeter-based company and we sell all around the world, but it is important to us that people know we are from Exeter, from Devon. We are very proud of that fact and we feel this sponsorship is the perfect way to demonstrate that. We are passionate about what we do in the same way Exeter City and all of its supporters are passionate about the club."
Adidas, meanwhile, will provide bespoke playing kits, along with training and replica kit for all teams within the club, the Academy and partner charity, Exeter City Community Trust. They replace Joma, who had been the club's kit supplier for the last ten years.
Justin Quick, Chief Operating Officer at Exeter City FC, said: "We’re really pleased to have signed this deal with Adidas, who are renown for quality and excellence. In addition, we’re delighted to welcome Pro:Direct on board as our supplier. It's particularly pleasing to work with a Devon-based company. We’d also like to thank Joma for their fantastic commitment and support to our club over the last decade."
Alongside this arrangement, the club will partner with Devon-based Pro:Direct who will be the exclusive distributor of the new kit. The exciting deal means there will be three new shirts this year, which are due to be revealed at the beginning of July.
Another announcement from the club was that Footasylum will be the back of shirt sponsor for the next two years – and with the option of a third. Footasylum are a leading fashion and sportswear retailer with 60 stores across the UK.
